CPH Hotel
The popular CPH Hotel is part of DGI Byen – an activity-driven, urban hub in the heart of Copenhagen, where hotel, sport and culture meet. It’s not just a place to sleep, but a place to be active and social.
In connection with a comprehensive energy renovation, Third.space and eksternal architects Spacon & X were tasked with the redecoration of all 102 rooms and the hotel lobby. We were also asked to produce a customized CPH Hotel lamp for use in the hotel rooms.
The hotel located in connection with DGI-byen offers 102 rooms suited for all sorts of guests - Regardless of whether they want to take advantage of the many leisure and sports activities in the house or experience Copenhagen's many attractions. With its central location next to the Central Station and within walking distance of Tivoli, guests are close to the city’s rhythm – while always having the option to retreat and recharge.
The CPH Hotel room solution is based on a wall-mounted rail-system that allows guests to personalize the room and move elements around. Most room elements were developed with the purpose of making guests active co-creators of their hotel room.
The adjustable system naturally includes different room types and extra beds. Both solo travellers and families or groups can enjoy the smart, adaptable design.
For the family rooms, Third.space has therefore had bunk beds and single beds manufactured, which are stored in fixed wall modules that match the room's unique design. When the beds are not in use, they can be folded away to give guests more floor space. The modules ensure that the hotel makes significantly better use of its square metres.
In the lobby, we have supplied furniture for cosy lounge areas where guests can relax. A special detail is that the coffee tables are made with table tops crafted from the hotel's old floortiles - some still visible in the floor. This is a nice touch that references the history of the place and makes good use of recycled materials.
The shared areas invite both relaxation and socialising, with areas designed for families, groups and individual travellers. Even in the lobby, guests are immediately welcomed by Spacon & X's unique design featuring exciting colours, materials and interior details.
