Bob W. - Østerbro
Bob W. isn’t your average hospitality brand. They offer one-of-a-kind, fully equipped apartments that blend the comforts of home with the perks of a hotel. Whether it’s for days, weeks or months, their spaces are designed with sustainability in mind, hyper-local, and unapologetically cool. With locations across Europe’s most vibrant cities, including Copenhagen’s Østerbro, they make sure every stay feels like a perfect fit.
Bob W. faced the task of transforming the location on Østerbro in Copenhagen into 165 modern hotel apartments that could live up to their strong brand identity and meet the needs of both short and long-term tenants.
The design needed to follow Bob W.'s design manual while interpreting the building's unique historical characteristics and local neighborhood. There was the special challenge that the building was handed over in stages from previous tenants to Bob W., which meant that furnishing the apartments had to be done gradually as the previous tenants moved out.
The interior design solution was carried out in close collaboration between our Interior Designer and Bob W.'s Design Manager to ensure the vision for the hotel apartments in the old, industrial building, which was originally a chocolate factory.
Third.space was given the task to create an authentic experience of living like a local in a genuine home. The design aims to create a visually appealing environment that attracts and retains guests.
Throughout the apartments, modern lines are balanced with cozy, inviting elements to ensure a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The look of the black, industrial windows is echoed in the black Frandsen Ball lamps in metal and the wardrobe solution with black metal profiles - Additionally, with black wooden strips on the walls and the black frame around the mirror. The design of the black details is softened by the warm color palette and many surfaces of wood, leather, and textiles.
Using a neutral color palette with hints of local Copenhagen colors creates a harmonious blend of international elegance and local charm.
We have developed custom-made furniture that is both stylish and durable and incorporated a local Copenhagen expression in the design while still fitting into the Bob W. brand design and aesthetics.
With the custom-made inventory, we can optimize space in the apartments and adapt them to rooms that vary in size and shape. Custom-made inventory includes beds, benches, and wardrobes that maximize space utilization and provide optimal comfort for guests in everyday life.
The beds and multifunctional benches have built-in storage that helps to maximize the compact rooms. It makes it easy to have many things in the apartment - without feeling cluttered or overcrowded.
The unique "brand wall," a hallmark of Bob W. hotels, is also found in the apartments which reflects the brand's identity and adds a distinctive visual element to each apartment.
Guest comfort is also a top priority for Bob W. The furniture is not only selected for its aesthetic appeal but also its comfort, functionality, and durability.
In hospitality environments durability is crucial. The furniture and inventory are made of high-quality materials, designed to withstand daily use by many guests. From robust bed frames to wear-resistant upholstery, each element is chosen for its long life and robustness.
In the project with Bob W., our customer promise of 'Timely Delivery' and 'Partnership' has been particularly important. With short deadlines, we have rearranged plans so the apartments have been furnished as the previous tenants move out.
Our project coordinator and logistics team have prioritized the client's operations - and therefore have put in a lot of work to move things around, expedite deliveries, and find solutions with our subcontractors when necessary.
This complex project required meticulous planning, flexible timelines, and seamless coordination. The commitment to “Timely Delivery” and “Partnership” was key to ensuring that the apartments were furnished in line with Bob W.’s operational needs.
The result of a good partnership can be seen in the beautiful and functional Bob W. apartments that future guests can enjoy on Østerbro in Copenhagen.
