The interior design of physiotherapy and training centre, Institut Thomey, reflects their unique concept while matching the design of the other companies housed in the same building to create a cohesive visual expression. The solution includes custom-made lockers.
Institut Thomey is a physiotherapy and training concept with a holistic approach. The concept offers unique exercise and treatment methods to help its members minimise pain and optimise the benefits of their training. The concept includes reformer, heat training, skillbike, and biocircuit.
The interior design of Institut Thomey is part of the overall project at Kejlstrupvej 87, Silkeborg with Match Padel and Selected Car Group. They wanted a coherent design between the different companies at Kejlstrupvej 87 that attracts the same quality-conscious customer group.
The different training and treatment services at the Institut also had to present a unified visual concept, and the centre had to be attractive and exciting to navigate.
The training and clinic facilities have been designed to accommodate the company's various client segments, including those who come in for individual treatments and those who attend group classes.
Therefore, the entrance/lounge is furnished with a variety of lounge furniture. There is a section with a sofa and lounge chairs facing each other, encouraging dialogue and community. On the opposite side of the room, a row of comfortable chairs is available for clients/members to sit without needing to interact with those around them.
We designed a custom-built locker wall that offers members a convenient place to store their belongings during training. Integrated benches encourage users to sit down, change shoes, or interact before and after sessions — enhancing both comfort and informal community.
More than just practical storage, the lockers form a visually calm and coherent piece of furniture. Carefully integrated niches add rhythm and variation, making the long hallway feel welcoming rather than monotonous.
The customised design solution supports efficient operations while expressing a strong, high-quality brand identity in a frequently used space.
In this project, we also supplied curtains for the different training rooms. A nice and exclusive way to create privacy. The curtains also help improve acoustics and are easy to clean when needed.
